Oxford United Women Arrange Post Season Friendlies

Oxford United Women have today unveiled a post-season schedule of friendlies, starting with Maidenhead United Women this Sunday

Manager Liam Gilbert said:

“The biggest aim is just to play football, everyone in the team has worked so hard over the lockdown period and over the FA Cup games, so for us to do nothing after that would be unfair to them.

“I’m looking forward to the prospect of facing clubs that we have an existing relationship with, and they should be good games as well. Those teams will pose a variety of challenges, different philosophies and styles of play, which will keep things fresh for us to be faced with as a team.

“This weekend against Maidenhead, we’ll be looking forward to facing a team who will be fresh and looking forward to the contest, who will be building towards next season already.

“As for ourselves, I expect our attitude and application to be one hundred percent, which is what we always expect, and it will be a chance for the players who haven’t featured over the last few weeks to get an opportunity and deserve a run out after the good work they’ve put in.”

Games to be played before 17th May will be behind closed doors, however we will have further details on the games being played after this date in due course.
