Boss Karl Robinson will be in the stands on Saturday as United head for Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
The U’s boss requested that his sending off at Sunderland was treated in isolation from other events during and after that game and the club expect to receive formal confirmation that he is banned from the touchline tomorrow after he was sent to the stands at the Stadium of Light.
“We move on from that” he said to iFollow ahead of the game. “We have carried on playing for a long time now and I understand people’s frustration after last weekend because we could have been sat in the play-off places with two better results. Sometimes players underperform but I am still immensely proud of how they have handled this year.
“They will give it their all again on Saturday, we know that. If anyone thinks they are ‘on the beach’ already then they can go and try and find one now! But we aren’t like that. We all know what it means to wear the badge and what the shirt means to these players. If anyone thinks they can go on the pitch just to tick a box then they won’t be my player much longer.
“I know they won’t do that because I know this group will always compete and try to attain what we set out to do. We are hurt to be just off the play-off places right now but there are seven games to go and we are still in there competing. We aren’t scared of the teams we are trying to catch and we will do all we can to close that gap again.
“It won't be easy. I love watching this Crewe side, they play some really good football and this current group of young players they have are really talented. But we have a talented group as well, one with desire and plenty of energy, and they have trained really well this week and will go up there in a very positive mood.”
