Zaki Steps Down

Oxford United’s Vice Chairman Zaki Nuseibeh is stepping down from his role at the club.

Zaki has been a member of the Board since 2018 and told us that he remains a fan:

“After careful consideration and much deliberation with my dear friend Tiger, I decided to step down. I have loved every moment and there are some amazing people around the club who I am going to miss. It’s sad but it also feels like the time is right to step back. The club has a very strong Board and Tiger is doing a fantastic job as Chairman. In the current situation I know the club is in good hands, on and off the pitch.

"I leave with so many unforgettable memories as well as an eternal bond to this special club. And like every fan I look forward to the day we can all get back to supporting the team at matches together.”

Chairman Sumrith 'Tiger' Thanakarnjanasuth said

“Zaki is a good man and a good friend to all of us. He leaves with our thanks for all he has done for us and he knows he will always be welcome, any time.

“The Board is very strong and we will meet soon, as scheduled, to discuss how we rearrange things without Zaki but I know I will still be calling him for advice,  especially to discuss the matches because both of us have become obsessed not just with Oxford and the club but also with this football team and what we are trying to build.”
