Oxford United's under 18s are in derby action again on Saturday when they travel to Swindon Town.
The U's have been in fine form in the South West division of the EFL Youth Alliance and were boosted this week when Gatlin O'Donkor came on as a sub for the first team to become the club's youngest ever player.
"We were delighted for him" Coach Chris Hackett told us this week. "And for two of our under 21 players, Leon Chambers Parillon who did well when he came on and Nico Jones who looked good in defence.
"Gatlin is a good character and seemed to take everything in his stride on Tuesday. We spotted him at 14 playing for his local side in Reading and we asked him to come and have a trial and see how it went. He has gone on from there and this season we have regularly been asking our under 16s to step up an age group and push themselves in the under 18 side because we think that will bring them through that little bit quicker.
"It will be a difficult game for us on Saturday. There is always an extra edge to a derby but hopefully we can go there and get another decent result."
