Oxford United look to end 2020 on a high when they travel to Plymouth on Tuesday evening.
“It’s not going to be easy, not least because they are in Tier 2 and can still have fans in” Karl Robinson told iFollow today. “We have seen at our own games what a positive effect that can have and how fans can influence the games so we will be aware of that but at the same time it’s great to play games where there are fans, whoever they support.
"We can use it to motivate ourselves as well and it will be nice to go back there again so we are looking forward to it.
“I know their Manager really well and he’s done a fantastic job down there. They had a bit of a blip but have come through that and four points from the last two games is a tremendous return on the back of some of the results they had before that. We know how hard they will work. We have watched their games and we know we have to concentrate.
“But we did well on Boxing Day and are in decent form. It’s been a tough year but we want to end it in a positive way.
“We are without Alex Gorrin but we have Jamie Hanson, Anthony Forde and we know Liam Kelly can drop back in there so we have a lot of options which we didn’t have at the start of the season when Alex was injured.
“It’s only one player but everyone else is fine and looking forward to the challenge. Injuries and suspensions are part and parcel at this stage of the season. I don’t think anyone will be able to pick the same team for the four games over Christmas and New Year so it’s not an issue to me.”
