Each week presents a new challenge for us all and we have been asking Oxford United’s Psychotherapist Gary Blooom to help all of our fans by providing weekly tips and advice for good mental health.
The weekly advice definitely helps your positivity and Gary’s five tips this week are:
1. Got a garden? Do some gardening – research shows that it can reduce stress. Even if you haven’t got a garden have a look at getting some pot plants or cut flowers for your room.
2 Do you need to be online as much as you are? We now process double the information we did 10 years ago and often this can lead to stress.
3 if you’re worried about money keep a spending log. Set a goal of how much you want to save on a week by week basis.
4 Indulge in nostalgia – what favourite memories do you have of an Oxford Unietd game gone by. Have a look at your favourite photo albums.
5. Get your exercise done early – stretching exercises are an excellent way of passing the time waiting for the kettle to boil as you’re waiting for your morning cuppa.
Our thanks to Gary, and there is still a chance to sign up for Friday’s free Mental Health Awareness course. Just CLICK HERE to find out more.
