Oxford United midfielder Mark Sykes has been called into the Northern Ireland squad for their forthcoming friendly and Euro 2020 qualifying matches at home to Luxembourg and Germany on Thursday 5th September and Monday 9th September 2019 respectively.
Mark, who played in last night’s win over Norwich under 21s in the Leasing.com Trophy then flew out to link up with the squad, including his former United teammate Gavin Whyte and told us:
“I am always very proud to represent my country and I’m looking forward to it.”
He will miss United’s trip to Fleetwood on Saturday, as will Ben Woodburn who is away with Wales, while Nico Jones is also on international duty this week with the Republic of Ireland under 18 squad.
