Boss Karl Robinson was on the same page as the fans after Saturday’s 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers at the Kassam Stadium.
A goal from Cameron Brannagan and two from top scorer James Henry kept United moving up the table and Karl enjoyed what he saw just as much as the fans who roared their approval for another fantastic performance from the U’s
“I enjoyed watching the players today” Karl told iFollow. “They are a joy to watch and a joy to work with.
"We don’t want to get too excited too soon because we are nowhere near where we want to be in the league still. But it’s five clean sheets in six league game and then some big cup results that we have had. The players know there will be times when we find it harder to get results but when you are playing well then understand how and why we won the game and enjoy the moment.
“I was frustrated with the second half because I thought we lost control of the game but then we were playing against a very good team in Doncaster so you should never expect to dominate the whole match. But I thought we lost our shape a bit after the early goal after half time and we rode our luck a little bit sometimes, but I also thought we looked a very good team against a side who have been playing well.
“The first thing any Manager will ask for is honesty and we have that here. Work for each other, be honest and don’t cut corners. Our players do that so maybe I am being too harsh with them but I am really pleased with them. There is still a long long way to go though and we have to keep going. The demands we will place on the players will stay high: demand the work ethic and I think there is still much more to come.”.
