Oxford United welcome Portsmouth to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night knowing that a point would be enough to take them through to the knock-out stages of the Leasing.com Trophy.
The U’s have three points from their first game against Norwich City U21 while visitors Pompey are already through with six.
With Norwich having completed their fixtures and behind the U’s on goal difference one point for Karl Robinson’s side tomorrow would leave them too far ahead for Crawley Town to catch them in the final game in the group.
“It’s still a first team game and we will be going all out to win it” Karl told us earlier today. “A win against Portsmouth and we are through and then maybe we give some of the young players a chance to impress in the final game at Crawley.
“But you can’t think like that, you just have to focus on each game and we will be ready on Tuesday and looking to keep our good run going.”
