Oxford United Women return to action this weekend in the Women’s National League Plate when they travel to Watford on Sunday 2pm
Manager Liam Gilbert missed last weekend’s record 32-0 win over Launton in the County Cup but will be hoping for a similar result, even if a similar scoreline seems unlikely. The U’s lost 5-2 to Watford when the sides met last month and Liam told us
”Obviously last weekend’s game has everyone buzzing but it was a one-off and we need to get it out of our heads and concentrate fully on Sunday now. Our results have been amazing: we score lots of goals, but in between those games we are losing matches where I feel we should be that little bit more ruthless. Sunday gives us a chance to put that right.”
Hosts Watford enjoyed a seven goal victory themselves last weekend and are on a nine game unbeaten run
