Oxford United head for Rochdale on Tuesday night with Head Coach Karl Robinson looking for a positive reaction after defeat at Gillingham on Saturday.
That 1-0 loss puts extra pressure on the U’s as they prepare for games against Rochdale on Tuesday and at home to Bradford City on Saturday, although the United boss believes it is a time for cool heads…
“Every game is a must win” he told iFollow. “The focus doesn’t become any more or any less because of the situation you are in. Calmness is very important and I don’t think people around the club see me getting too carried away each day.
"All we do is pay 100% attention to the next game and if emotions run away with you then it affects those preparations. ‘Fire and Ice’ is what you need- that perfect combination of fire in the players' bellies and a calmness that allows us to perform to the best of our ability.”
“Our performances haven’t let the fans down this season but the results certainly have and we need to start putting that right now. There’s no better way to start doing that than on Tuesday.”
United have one new injury concern with John Mousinho limping off on Saturday with a calf injury.
“He is still a doubt although he will travel” Karl confirmed. “He was just stiff and we will see how that is tomorrow, but we have Ahmed Kashi who the fans haven’t seen the best of yet. I have, because I have worked with him before and his best is very good. Fans who were there on Saturday saw signs of what a good player he can be.”
