Oxford United forward Rob Hall took time out from training today to go and meet everyone at Helen and Douglas House in Oxford.
Helen and Douglas House hospice does amazing work with youngsters and their families and Rob went along to help BBC Oxford on their Hospice Day. He was interviewed by brothers Eathan and Harvey Fryett who are big Oxford United fans and have been visiting Helen House for many years with their younger sister Mia who has benefited hugely from the support and help that staff at Helen and Douglas House have provided.
“It’s an incredible place” Rob told us. “It took me a while to take it all in but there is such a positive feel to the whole place and it was very humbling to meet the staff and everyone there. It turns out I met Eathan before- he went to support us at Middlesbrough away a couple of years ago, and his dad was a season ticket holder for many years.
“They spoke so well about the effect that Helen and Douglas House continues to have on their sister and there were a few tears in people’s eyes when they were telling their story. I look forward to seeing the family again when they come to a game as our guests next season”
Oxford United would like to thank BBC Oxford for the invite and thank everyone at Helen and Douglas House for their warm welcome. You can find out much more here: https://www.helenanddouglas.org.uk
