Oxford United came back from two goals down at the weekend to gain a valuable point away at Fleetwood.
It was the proverbial ‘game of two halves’ as Head Coach Karl Robinson told iFollow after the game.
“It’s still not good enough” Karl said.”We did well in the first half but had no cutting edge and never looked like we were going to score, and then you get over eager, leave gaps and get played through.
"Fleetwood played the first half like the away team, something they haven’t done all season, and it took until we could get in at half time to make that tactical switch; we were much better after that, stopped their holding midfield player from dominating the game and getting much more on the front foot.
“Jamie Mackie made a big difference for us as well. We had all the play in the first half but didn’t get crosses and shots off, then we get hit on the break and look like a bad team. We go out there in the second half, have more impetus, Jordan Graham was unplayable and we looked a much more dangerous team.
“The players never just lie down and take it. We are honest when we are bad but we are a good group of people. Whatever is said in the dressing room stays in the dressing room but you can imagine what was said at half time.
“They are good people in that dressing room and we now move on. We face the team that is top of the league on Saturday so it’s a big challenge and a big week.”
