Fans Meeting Sets Ball Rolling

A working group focussing on ticketing and matchday experience met with fans prior to the FA Youth Cup fixture against Bournemouth last night.

Representatives from the club were on hand for fans to ask questions and pass on ideas in an informal environment, a process which will be repeated at regular intervals.

Topics covered on the night and from emails submitted by fans in advance of the evening included:

  • All Ticket Policy
  • Away Ticket Allocation
  • Catering
  • Stadium Facilities
  • Retail
  • Atmosphere and Stadium PA
  • Family Area
  • Ticket Pricing
  • Public Transport to fixtures
  • Car Parking
  • Open Day

A full document of the discussions will be available as soon as possible.

Commercial and Marketing Director Matt Everett said “As we are trying to grow attendances, we know we have to do everything that we can to make the matchday experience enjoyable. A big part of that is open dialogue and feedback with supporters on what is, and sometimes is not, possible.

"We have put together this working group within the club to focus on this, and we were really pleased with the conversations we were able to have. The topics covered were vast, and we already have a few very actionable improvements.

"It is good that we can answer fans' questions directly, and if we can keep making small improvements, this will have a big impact over time. Once we have met internally as a group we will publish the conversations that we had and what action we can take.

"I’d like to thank the fans that took the time to talk to us, and we welcome feedback on the format for future meetings.”

The next meeting will take place in late February, after the next four huge home matches, with the venue and exact date TBC.

In the meantime, supporters are invited to submit any further feedback they have via our Supporter Liaison Officer Kath Faulkner at kfaulkner@oufc.co.uk
