Women Face Gillingham On Sunday

Sunday afternoon sees Oxford United Women return to league action against an in form Gillingham side.

United are back home again after  successfully making it through to the final of the Oxfordshire cup last weekend. The ladies are in a rich vein of form at the moment winning their last four outings and keeping a clean sheet in three of them.

Sunday will be another tough test against a Gillingham side who are one of the in form teams in the National League, winning five of their last six games.

When the two sides met earlier in the season Oxford ran out 5-0 winners with goals coming from Lauren Haynes, Sophie Baker, Ellie Noble, Flo Fyfe and Maddie Robertson.

Manager Liam Gilbert said “We have seen their recent run of results and know that Gillingham will be a different team to the last time we played them. They have made a number of signings on and off the pitch and it has strengthened them and allowed them to climb the table."
