We are pleased to have Manny Omoyinmi as our guest when we take on Scunthorpe United at home on Saturday.
Manny played for both sides and will be our Guest of Honour at the Kassam Stadium
“I was excited to sign for Oxford,” he says in Saturday’s Match Programme. “I was on holiday and I spoke to my agent and my wife and she was excited to hear ‘Oxford’. I didn’t know much about Oxford at that point, nor did I know about the area, so I was open to it. I had a look around and spoke to a few people. I knew a bit about the history and that Oxford had been successful but I wasn’t sure who the current manager was, but after looking at the city I was very excited to come up to Oxford.
“I would have loved to have given a lot more than I did in terms of playing and goals but with injuries and being out of favour it just wasn’t meant to be. I think I hit the bar on my debut; it was a good start and I enjoyed it, although we didn’t have much success while I was there.”
“We took the kids down to Oxford in the summer just to have a look around. We parked up outside the stadium and I told them ‘This is where Daddy used to play’. It will be nice to show them the inside of the stadium; I’ve got an eight-year-old son and this is my first time back so hopefully it’ll be a really good game.”
We are sure you will make Manny feel at home once again this weekend
