Oxford United picked up a point with an excellent performance against Sunderland on Saturday but it was the fans who drew praise after the game from Head Coach Karl Robinson.
“I thought the fans were magnificent” he said afterwards. “The aim was to have a crowd of over 10,000 but to fill it with home fans rather than give more to the away side because home advantage can be so important.
“I thought the fans were brilliant in the second half. The players gave it everything and I think the supporters recognised that and really got behind them. When we got the equaliser the noise was unbelievable and I think most people felt we were full value for at least a point.
“Now we have to build from that and keep it going when we face Peterborough on Saturday.”
It was a great day all round on Saturday, from the under 18s being presented with their league champions trophy to a great collection for the Oxford Food Bank. Scroll through the gallery above as we take a look behind the scenes.
