Oxford United would like to wish young midfielder James Cowan the very best of luck for the future as he leaves the club for a new challenge.
James has been a scholar for the last two seasons but was this week told that he would not be offered professional terms when his scholarship ends. Under 18’s Coach Leon Blackmore-Such told us:
“It’s the side to the game that we all hate because James is a top class person who has been a credit to himself and his family and a pleasure to have around. Not everyone gets the chance to turn pro and we wanted to give James as much chance of finding a new opportunity, that’s why we let him know this week.
“Because of the way he has conducted himself here we will all go out of our way to try and help him in any way we can, and he knows he leaves here with our best wishes.”
