Oxford United are pleased to announce the signing of Elliott Moore for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.
The 22-year-old joins from Leicester City where he has been since he was six years old. The six-foot-five central defender represented England at under 18 and 20 level and had a successful loan spell in Belgium where he made over 60 appearances for OH Leuven, captaining the side.
Karl Robinson was pleased to add Moore to his defensive options:
“He has a presence and obviously with his height is really good in the air but he is not afraid to try and play out from the back, which is important for defenders in this day and age. I want to thank Tiger and the Board for their support: they have backed our judgement and invested in a player who we think will do really well for us.”
Elliott told us
“I have loved my time at Leicester but I know it is the right time to move on and try to get games and establish myself. Oxford are a great fit: there are great plans here, the Manager has a fantastic reputation and I think we will have a very strong squad this year. I started out at right-sided centre half but got moved across and have played most of my games there so I am comfortable in either role, and now it is just a case of training hard, getting to know the lads and settling in.”
