Oxford United U18s kick off their 2019/20 league season away at Plymouth on Friday (KO 1pm).
The youngsters come off the back of a strong pre-season and will be looking to take the momentum into a tough league opener on the south coast in the Youth Alliance League.
The match is being played at the Plymouth Academy and – like all league games this season for the U18s - is open to the public.
After finishing pre-season with a 1-0 win over Category 2 Academy side Coventry City last week, Lead PDP coach Leon Blackmore-Such told us:
“We start our league campaign on Friday, and we are really looking forward to the boys, now off the back of pre-season, taking the momentum into it. We are excited, it’s a younger group. A lot of the second years are not with us, a couple are injured, and others are playing with the U23s and first team and that’s what this game is about. Hopefully the younger players can see the path and keep progressing the group from there and we can keep pushing the boys through.”
We will have live text commentary on the match on Twitter over on our academy page @AcademyOUFC followed by a match report and reaction right here on the website.
