Last night’s Carabao Cup win over Peterborough United came at a cost after X-Rays confirmed that forward Malachi Napa suffered a broken leg.
Malachi has an operation this morning and will see a specialist later today to confirm the full extent of the damage and agree the best way to start his road to recovery.
Head Coach Karl Robinson told us
”I feel sick for the lad. He had looked very bright and had worked so hard all summer to get himself fitter and stronger than he has ever been so it is devastating news.
“I don’t want to talk too much about the challenge itself, I just want to focus on Malachi. I visited him in hospital last night and he is a very positive young man. He knows that we have a fantastic medical and physio team who will do all they can to help him. As a club we will be there for him and will give him all the support he needs.”
