Oxford United welcome Gavin Whyte back into the squad as they head for Walsall on Saturday.
The Northern Ireland winger missed last week’s win over Wycombe after picking up a thigh injury while away on international duty but was back in full training today and is hoping to be involved again when the U’s travel to the Bescot this weekend.
The U’s will be without long term injuries Shandon Baptiste, Rob Hall and Jon Obika, although all three are making good progress, while Malachi Napa is back out on the training pitches each day and getting stronger by the day after a virus.
“We are still without Shandon, Hally and Jon Obika” Head Coach Karl Robinson told us earlier “but we are expecting Gavin to be back which will be a bonus for us.”
The one doubt is striker Jerome Sinclair, as Karl explained:
“Jerome had a bit of a thigh strain and didn’t train yesterday but he is expected to train later in the week. We expect him to be available but we will know more in the next 24 to 48 hours.”
