Oxford United will be boosted by the return of Simon Eastwood and Marcus Browne on Saturday and there could be a return for two familiar faces as well as a first start for a promising youngster.
Browne returns to the squad for the first time since his red card at Walsall and will be raring to go after his three game ban while Eastwood is also available again after missing one game after being sent off against Charlton on Good Friday.
“Easty will play” Karl Robinson told iFollow earlier today. “The plan was always for Jack Stevens to play at Shrewsbury and he was brilliant but it’s the last home game and Easty has been a big player for us this season so he will start in goal for this one.”
There could also be a first start for defender Nico Jones after his debut as a substitute at Shrewsbury.
“The plan is for Nico to play” Karl confirmed. “I thought he looked very comfortable on Monday and although Rob Dickie will hopefully be fit it would be good to take a look at Nico in what will be a really good game against a strong Doncaster side who have done great this season.”
Karl refused to be drawn on whether Jon Obika or Rob Hall might be involved for the first time after long-term knee injuries but the pair took part in a full training session today. Will they be part of the squad or will it come just too soon?
