Women Take On Banbury

Oxford United Women are preparing for a trip to Banbury United Women on Sunday in the quarter final of the Oxfordshire FA County Cup.

The Yellows soared through the first round with an emphatic 18-0 victory over North Leigh LFC while Banbury saw off Launton Ladies with a more modest 4-2.

"Going into this weekend's game we know once again we'll be big favourites" manager Liam Gilbert told us "which is a bit of a change in mindset for us compared with the league, but it's massively important that we treat it the same way we do every match. Our preparation this week has been spot on, the girls have worked hard at training. "

"We know a little bit about Banbury, our assistant coach Kath Faulkner was there last season, and we know they like to get the ball down and play, so we're looking forward to a really good game of football."

Kick off is at 1.30pm on Sunday at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium (OX16 5AB) or, if you can't make it you can follow the action live @OfficialOUWFC on Twitter and Instagram.

We are aware of the confusion regarding the Women's SSE Women's FA Cup second-round opponents after the FA Women's Football Board (WFB) upheld a complaint regarding the pitch dimensions of the first-round tie between Cambridge City Ladies and Cambridge United Women.

It has been ruled that the match between the two sides will now be replayed on Sunday, 25 November (1pm) at Cambridge United's home ground of Mildenhall Town FC.

Oxford United Women will face the winners of this replay at home on Sunday 2nd December.
