While the first team were away at Scunthorpe on Saturday Oxford United were still part of a huge crowd in the city itself with the club proud to have supported the 51st Annual Oxford Round Table Fireworks alongside Jack FM.
Over 26,000 people attended the display in South Park with thousands of families enjoying the annual event which has raised over £1m for local charities over the years.
Oxford United had a merchandise stall selling hats and scarves to keep the winter out while Peter Rhoades-Brown and Olly the Ox welcomed everyone to the Family Tent, with Olly then dancing at the Main Stage as well.
Club sponsor Singha Beer donated 500 beers to the event which were sold for donation to the Round Table’s charities; our thanks to Singha for their generosity.
As a club we had 150 half priced family ticket vouchers for our next home league game against Gillingham which were given to local families while three lucky winners received Family Tickets on the night. One, pictured here with Olly and Rosie, is William aged 7 who played that day for Radley Under 8’s and won 8-0!
Commercial and Marketing Director Matt Everett said
“It is so important that we support community events such as this. With over 26,000 people there, it is without doubt the largest family gathering in Oxfordshire, and by being involved on the night we hope to attract some of these families to our next home League match against Gillingham, and for other matches in the future.”
