The new season will see a new team behind the scenes on matchday at Oxford United.
The U’s were once again awarded the EFL Family Excellence Award in 2017/18, something they have achieved every year since they returned to the League in 2010. We also scored well in a survey on Away Fan Experience but we think we can do things even better next time around.
With that in mind we are looking to build a small team of ‘Supporter Liaison Officers’ to help us around the ground on a matchday. The new team will work with all areas of the club to ensure a warm welcome, answer questions from first time fans, provide directions, and help around the ground.
They will work alongside the stewards, ticket office staff and everyone in hospitality areas and we believe will help improve the ‘feel good factor’ at every game.
Kath Faulkner, the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer told us:
“We pride ourselves on being a friendly, welcoming club and this is just a case of a combination of small things hopefully making a big difference. For example someone outside the away turnstiles telling away fans what their options are for food and drink, or maybe someone just being visible and able to guide people to where they can buy a programme or how to pre order a drink for half time- something else we hope to introduce.
“We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic fans who enjoy working in a team and who are able to be here every game ready to help make everyone feel at home.”
We expect plenty of interest in these roles which are voluntary, although we will pay for your season ticket for the coming season plus you get to join our friendly matchday team and will receive full training.
