Oxford United welcome Peterborough United on Saturday looking to turn their home form around.
United were excellent at London Road earlier in the season and Caretaker Manager Derek Fazackerley is looking for a similar performance as his side take on the Posh on Saturday.
“It’s well documented that our home form this season hasn’t been good enough” he told iFollow. “I think it’s six losses in the last nine home game and it’s time we turned that around. What better day to do that than Saturday against Peterborough- a place where we had a great victory earlier in the season.
“It’s certainly a game we are looking forward to. Peterborough should bring good support with the position they are in the league so it’s a chance to show everybody what we can do.”
‘Faz’ went on a scouting mission earlier in the week to watch Steve Evans’ side in action against Bury:
“If you have someone like Marriott up front you are going to be a threat. Bury probably dominated the game on Tuesday night but when you have someone like him with a bit of pace and an eye for goal it can change very quickly and we are going to have to be aware of that.”
One positive for the U's from recent weeks has been the introduction of Rob Dickie at centre-half:
“He’s been excellent since he got into the side” Faz said “very competitive, got a bit of pace and a decent passer of the ball. He’s only 20 or 21 so he has bags of room for improvement but he has handled himself very well and is quite mature for his age so he looks to have a good career ahead of him and if he continues to make progress that will be good for him and for us as a club.”
