Ireland Coach Update

Oxford United head for Ireland in pre-season and the club are working with the Yellow Army to make sure that the trip is just as successful as the previous tours of Austria, Spain and Portugal in recent years.

United will kick off their three game programme with a game at Portmarnock on Monday July 9th, then travel to Longford Town on the Tuesday evening before a final game at UCD, Dublin, on the Wednesday.

Most fans will be staying in Dublin but the Longford game is roughly 90 minutes away from the capital and presents a challenge if travelling by public transport.

Therefore the club and the Yellow Army are exploring the possibility of booking coaches from Dublin to the game and back.

These would depart in plenty of time to allow fans to enjoy the game, and prices would be kept as low as possible, with the aim simply to cover costs. Since the coaches will be private we will be unable to accept cash payment on the day- all coach tickets will need to be booked in advance.

What we need to know though is how many coaches to book. To date around 80 people have said they will be interested, and that suggests two coaches would need to be booked. Would you like to be added to the 'possibilities' list?

Then please email Supporter Liaison Officer Kath Faulkner ( kfaulkner@oufc.co.uk ) ASAP. Once we get a better idea of numbers we will announce details of the coaches later this week. Those on the waiting list will receive priority booking before they go on general sale.
