Kick off brought forward for UCD v Oxford United

Oxford United finish their pre-season tour of Ireland with a friendly at UCD this evening. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS GAME NOW KICKS OFF AT 4.45 (for obvious reasons)

UCD v Oxford United

Wednesday 11th July
Kick off
5pm

The UCD Bowl, Dublin

The game is now fixed as a 5pm kick-off to allow everyone to watch England's World Cup semi-final later that evening.

Team News

With Cameron Brannagan still recovering form a virus and Rob Hall not riked in any of the games this week United will also wait and see how Rob Dickie and Samir Carruthers recover from knocks they picked up inthe 5-1 win at Longford last night. Both are likely to feature, but won't be risked if there is any doubt.

Manager's Thoughts

Coach Shaun Derry, 40, stepped in for a cameo performance last night and may do so again if required as it allows other players to get the amount of time on the pitch that  has been worked out in advance

"It wasn't something we'd planned too much" Karl Robinson told us "but we had a couple of injuries during the game, had played the night before and will play again on Wednesday so it was more about managing the workload. Not many people get on, score a penalty and get booked within about thirty seconds! But it was either that or ask someone who had gone off already to go back on when they had cooled down. I don't mind too much if Shaun pulls his hamstring, rather than one of the players!"

Public Transport
The campus is best served by bus, with bus stops at the entrance to the campus, for the 39A, 46A and 145. Each of these buses operates from multiple locations across Dublin City Centre, and mid week they operate about every 5 minutes. Note that for buses, you will either need the exact fare in coin (€2.85 from O'Connell Bridge to UCD Stop), or else a "Leap Card" can be purchased and topped up in most newsagents and then a tap on/tap off system works. More information can be found on the website below:

https://www.dublinbus.ie/

The campus can also be accessed by Dart (Dublin's train system - Sydney Parade Stop), and Luas (Dublin's tram system - Windy Arbour Stop) however these are slightly further away with about a 25 minute walk to campus required.

Food/Drink

There is one bar on campus, which is called the UCD Clubhouse Bar. This is a short walk from the UCD Bowl. As the campus is currently in it's out of term time there are renovation works going on in the downstairs area of the bar, however the upstairs bar will be open on the day of the game. Entry to the bar will be by the side entrance and then up the stairs where a full bar will be available.

Ticket Prices

These are priced €10 for adults, and €5 for all concession tickets (Children U14, Student with ID, and OAPs).

Programme
The home club will be producing a programme for this game.

World Cup Semi-FInal

With the renovations to the UCD Clubhouse there is limited space to watch the England game so UCD have spoken to the nearby Clonskeagh House Pub, which is about a 10 minute walk from the ground, and will be showing the game on 12 screens.

Coverage

There will be live commentary on BBC Oxford online tonight but not in iFollow, which will make its seasonal bow at Oxford City on Saturday

There will be a match report right here on the final whistle each time and you can follow the game on twitter via @OUFCOfficial . Last night's twitter feed at Longford seemed to get more hits than usual. Our thanks to Rob Hall for his twitter takeover.
