Oxford United are pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Harris as their new Head of Academy.
Dan, 38, has over eighteen years experience in the professional game and has worked in the English Premier League with Birmingham City & West Bromwich Albion, the EFL with Coventry City & Peterborough United, the SPL & Champions League with Celtic FC and at U19 & U20 Level with the England Youth Teams.
Most recently he has been Assistant Head Coach in South Korea with K-League team Seoul E-Land FC where he has had oversight for establishing a recruitment, coaching, sports science and academy infrastructure.
He told us:
“I am thrilled to be given this opportunity. Oxford has a fantastic tradition for bringing through the best local players and giving them a chance in the first team. The staff and infrastructure are already well established and I want to come in, build from those solid foundations and make sure that this club continues to thrive and enjoy success at the Academy for many years to come.”
Chairman Darryl Eales said:
“We had a number of very strong candidates for the role but Dan is an outstanding individual with a very strong CV and a lot of really exciting ideas to help us continue to grow and improve the Academy.
“He will work alongside Les Taylor and the Academy coaches and following the recent appointment of Chris Hackett as PDP coach we believe this is a very exciting time for everyone involved in the youth development side of the club.”
