A new era starts for Oxford United when we welcome Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League 1 on Saturday.
Sumrith “Tiger” Thanakarnjanasuth became Chairman of the U’s yesterday and we want to let Tiger hear the roar from the Oxford fans.
“I liked the city and when I came to the match I saw a lot of passion from the fans” Tiger told iFollow yesterday. “I looked through the club structure, the players and the organisation and I think there is a great opportunity here.”
Tiger’s initial focus will be on finding the next permanent Manager at Grenoble Road and he feels progress is definitely being made in that search:
“We have almost ten candidates and have now got to a final two or three who we want to talk to. We just want to make sure that we choose the right person.
"That person needs to drive the team and get the best out of the ability of the players because I can see that we have a lot of good players. He needs to do his job to get the best out of them and for every single player to show their strengths. If we do that we will get good results.”
That recruitment policy is ongoing but whoever takes charge in the dug-out, we want to welcome the new owner in true Oxford style this Saturday.
The covers have been on the pitch since last Thursday to protect it from the weather so wrap up warm, grab that yellow scarf and get behind the U’s.
