Oxford United head for Peterborough on Saturday knowing that they face a tough test against an impressive Posh team.
“Peterborough are a good side” Karl Robinson told iFollow earlier today. “Steve and his staff have recruited really well. Arguably they have the best firepower in the league. I know the Chairman Darragh works extremely hard; I remember when he first got the club and it was Peterborough and MK competing so I have seen big big games against them and we know their fans will get behind their team and it is a difficult ground to play at.
"But our fans are fantastic as well and we will have that ever-growing travelling support behind us and will do our best for them.”
Ricky Holmes returned to training this week after a back problem and could return to a United squad who are looking to win their third game in a row for the first time this season.
“Ricky trained today and I’d like to think we can get him on the bench on Saturday and able to play some part in the game. But there are better qualified people than me to decide whether it is the right thing to have him involved. But having him available to come on gives us a bit more of a threat in forward and wide areas.
“We have had a couple of staff struggling with colds and James Henry had it a little but nothing bad - I think everyone is like this at this time of year. We play so many games and are inundated with football matches but we are in good spirits and looking forward to the game. We will work hard and do all we can to put on a show for the people who make the trip to support us.
“In terms of injuries Samir Carruthers is three to four weeks off, Shandon Baptiste is maybe six weeks until his shoulder settles down, but getting closer. So we are slowly getting there and a few more wins keeps us in good spirits when we get players back and can bring some players in, which will all put us in even better spirits and we can be a really competitive team.”
