Oxford United welcome Tottenham Hotspur Under 21s to Grenoble Road on Tuesday night as the Checkatrade Trophy starts to hot up.
A Wembley final remains the ultimate prize, with the winners on Tuesday away at Cheltenham Town in the next round, and United’s First Team Coach Derek Fazackerley knows that the U’s have their work cut out against an exciting young Spurs side
“It will be a tough test for us” he told iFollow earlier today. “Tottenham obviously have a big squad of players and are in several competitions but it’s a game we should look forward to and want to win.
“I have said many times before that the competition has been kind to us here at Oxford in recent years, with two Wembley finals to enjoy.
"Obviously on top of that there is a financial incentive to go as far as you can, which is important to the clubs. All of which means that it is a game we want to win.”
