PREVIEW Oxford United Women v Manchester City

Oxford United Women welcome Manchester City to Court Place Farm in the Continental Cup tonight (7.45pm).

TEAM NEWS

Andy Cook's side are in good form this season with a draw against Brighton in their last game leaving them in fourth place in WSL2. They welcome back Hannah Short after suspension but captain Lauren Haynes is again likely to miss out through injury.

THE OPPOSITION

Man City’s side is packed with internationals, including England goalkeeper Karen Bardsley, England Captain Steph Houghton, Jill Scott and Nikita Parris and with United doing well in the WSL2 it sets up what should be a great cup tie. City have a 100% record so far this season and midfielder Izzy Christiansen said:

“It’s important that we’ve set that standard. Moving forward, we’ve got to hit those standards now to keep our momentum going. We’ve been playing some really good football and we’ve scored some really great goals. Momentum is huge so we have to keep making sure we stay solid defensively and keep taking our chances.”

Tickets are on sale from oufctickets priced £5 adults (on the night £6) and just £1 for Oxford United Season Ticket holders on the night.
