Oxford United’s 200 club always has some fantastic guests and next Tuesday, when we welcome Blackburn Rovers in Sky Bet League 1 we have a local lad who wore the yellow shirt with huge pride.
We are delighted to announce that Paul Wanless is our “Guest of Honour” on Tuesday night.
Paul had two spells with the U’s, coming through the ranks as a Bicester boy and playing 32 times initially before moving on for a long spell at Cambridge where he played 350 times and became a Cult Hero as club captain .
He then returned to his home town club in 2003 and went on to make 65 appearances, scoring 10 goals from midfield before finally hanging up his boots. Still a Bicester man, and one of football’s nice guys, Paul still has a passion for Oxford United and will be in the Manor Lounge at 7.10pm and then the Maurice Evans Lounge at 7.20pm on Tuesday.
There are always great names from the past in the lounges and in the matchday restaurant, hosted by Legends Steve Basham and Jeremy Charles: call the Commercial Team on 01865 337503/513 or email commercial@oufc.co.uk to find out more.
