Pep Clotet is looking for his side to get back to winning ways when we welcome Northampton Town on Saturday.
The United boss saw his side lose at Fleetwood in their last league game but now wants a reaction after disappointing results in the subsequent FA Cup and Checkatrade games.
"We could have had a point at Fleetwood but got punished" he told iFollow. "In such a tight league those are the margins. But to be fair I think the club has come a long way in the last two years; this is our second season in League 1 and we are competing in a top ten place, and it’s important to keep improving and correcting mistakes. We have come through a hard moment before this season and put it right and need to do the same again.
"Northampton came up alongside us and I see a similar project. I am sure they will be very solid on Saturday and they are starting to get results and a little momentum.
"They are an effective mix as a squad and eventually they will be higher than they are at the moment. I like that there’s a little bit of history between the clubs: anything that gives that little energy to the players and to the fans is a good thing."
United hope to have Ricardinho in the squad again while both Gino van Kessel and Agon Mehmeti are also approaching full fitness:
"Gino is doing much better and I hope to see him on the pitch next week" Pep said. "Ricardinho is doing well and it will be a late decision on whether he is involved on Saturday. Agon will be out on the grass very soon; he is running well in a controlled situation and we are hoping he will soon be outside training on the grass and ready as soon as possible."
