Oxford United are pleased to announce that we will be playing Middlesbrough in our first friendly in Portugal this summer.
Last season Boro were a Premier League side and will undoubtedly be among the favourites for a quick return to the top flight. Like Hull City in the second friendly, they will provide tough opposition for the U’s as they continue their preparations for the 2017/18 season.
The game will be played at the Estadio da Nora, home of FC Ferreiras, in Albufeira on Wednesday 12th July, kicking off at 6.30pm local time. Ticket details will be announced in due course.
The second game in Portugal, against the Tigers, will take place at the same venue on Saturday 15th July, also kicking off at 6.30pm local time.
United have also made one change to their scheduled Sky Bet League One fixtures, with the home game against Scunthorpe United being switched from Saturday 31st March to Good Friday, 30th March, kick-off 3pm.
