There will be three new faces in the United squad when they face Birmingham City at home in a pre-season friendly on Saturday (3pm).
Jon Obika made a promising debut in Portugal but has been rested for the last couple of games as he builds fitness. The striker is expected to be available for Saturday though and Manager Pep Clotet confirmed that he will play some part, as will Dwight Tiandelli and Xemi Fernandez.
Dutch international Tiandelli is at home in either full back role and is likely to start on the bench while former Barcelona B midfielder Xemi has impressed in training and will be involved for the U’s for the first time.
Simon Eastwood should be OK after cutting his leg in Wednesday night’s friendly against Brentford but Scott Shearer stands by to deputise if required.
