Brighton & Hove Albion Under-21s have been drawn to play in United's group in the opening stage of this season's Checkatrade Trophy.
United, who will compete in Southern Group G, already know that they will face MK Dons and Stevenage in the group stages, the opening game of which will take place on 29th August.
In a new ruling by the EFL, all under-21 sides must play their group games away from home, so Brighton will visit Grenoble Road.
The dates of the group stage games is as follows:
Week commencing 28th August: Stevenage (A)
Week commencing 2 October: Brighton U21 (H)
Week commencing 6 November: MK Dons (H)
