Midfielder stays with the U's for longer
Midfielder Josh Ruffels has signed a new deal with Oxford United. The Oxford-born midfielder has been a big part of the squad for the last four years after joining from Coventry City in the summer of 2013. Saturday’s 4-0 win at Chesterfield was his 114th appearance for the U’s and came as he agreed a new one-year deal with the club.
23-year-old Josh told us:
“I’m pleased to have got everything sorted out nice and early. The time has flown past but I have really enjoyed my time here and I can’t wait to be part of things as we continue to move forwards.
“I’d obviously have liked to play more games this season but the competition is so strong for a starting place at the moment and I know it is up to me to keep improving, keep working at my game and when I get chances I have to make the most of them.”
Head Coach Michael Appleton said:
“Josh played very well on Saturday and deserved his place in the team. He has a fantastic attitude and I'm sure there is still a lot more to come from him.”
