Join us at Thame United for the Final tonight
Oxford United’s young guns get a chance to shine tonight as they take on North Leigh in the final of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.
Andy Whing and Leon Blackmore Such guided a young U’s side to a trilling semi-final win over Banbury United and will give the bulk of the same squad another chance to impress tonight. The one change is likely to be Dejon Noel-Williams coming into the side up front in place of the suspended Jordan Graham.
Leon told us:
“They did very well against Banbury and it is fantastic experience for them to play in games like this against much more experienced senior sides.”
That experience is best exemplified by North Leigh striker Jamie Cook. Twice an Oxford player, Jamie has tweeted that tonight will be his final game before hanging up his boots. North Leigh have had United’s young goalkeeper Manny Agboola on loan this season but an injury to him means that defender Stuart Hole has been playing between the sticks in recent weeks.
It all adds up to a great evening’s entertainment at Meadow View Park, home of Thame United. Kick off is at 7.45pm and admission is £7 adults, £4 for under 16s and over 65s
