Rob Hall is in the squad ahead of a return to action against Chelsea u23's
Forward Rob Hall is expected to make his comeback for Oxford United on Tuesday night as the U’s take on Chelsea u23’s at Stamford Bridge.
Hall has not played a professional game since April, when a ruptured ACL ended his season. Derek Fazackerley spoke about a possible return to action in the Checkatrade Trophy.
“He’s had a serious knee injury, which is obviously disappointing for him. But he’s looking forward to getting back on the football field.” Fazackerley told Yellow Player HD. “We have to be wary that we don’t want to do too much too soon with him – try to feed him back into the squad, get him as much game time as possible without doing too much damage.
“Hopefully at some point he’ll get some minutes on the pitch tomorrow night at Chelsea and from there we can build it up gradually.”
Hall is set for his first appearance for the U’s since a loan spell during the 2011-12 season. Wes Thomas is also expected to return after a calf injury while Head Coach Michael Appleton has hinted that some of his more experienced players could return to the side on Tuesday after being rested on Saturday.
Fans are reminded that this game is ALL TICKET with none available on the night and with no collection point at Stamford Bridge you need to buy and collect from the OUFC Ticket office ahead of the game.
