Oxford United to face trip to Birmingham City
Oxford United have been drawn away to EFL Championship side Birmingham City in the first round of the 2016/17 EFL Cup.The last time that Oxford visited St Andrews was in November 1998, when a Matt Murphy goal earned United a 1-0 win. This is the sides' first meeting in a cup competition, although they have met 26 times in the league.
Last season United won 4-0 at Championship side Brentford in the first round, with Kemar Roofe's 40-yard goal nominated for the Football League Goal of the Season award.
The game will take place during the week commencing 8th August and ticket details will be announced when known.
