Be part of the big day as the U's take on Chesterfield
The time is NOW as Oxford United get set for the new season.
Over 5,000 fans have backed Michael Appleton and his side this summer by buying season tickets and setting a new record for the Kassam Stadium.
Now it's over to everyone else to come and join us for the season's curtain raiser when the U's welcome Chesterfield on August 6th.
It's history in the making- the first time that the ground has hosted League One football; the first time the U's have kicked off at this level this century. New players, new kit, and a new era.
Michael Appleton said:
"The support has been magnificent and reaching that 5,000 season ticket mark is a fantastic achievement. We saw against Swansea, Swindon and Wycombe last year what happens when we get a full house and everyone roars the team on. It is such a boost for the players and we want every Oxford fan out there to try and get along for the first game and help us get off to a great start."
More than 5,000 fans have guaranteed their place for every game but we want as many supporters as possible here for the first game to celebrate the club being back in League 1 and to roar on the team.
New captain John Lundstram added:
"We're excited and really looking forward to that first game. The new players have settled in really well and it would be great to walk out on that first afternoon and see every seat full and hear the noise from another big crowd. We will keep training hard next week but we can't wait to get started now."
Season tickets have started to be sent out and there is still time to book yours, to secure your seat for every game.
If you are not a season ticket holder, then no need to worry- there are still seats available and we would love to have you here to create that wall of noise as the teams come out for the very first time in 2016/17. Hurry though- some areas of the ground are already close to selling out so don't leave it too long before you book your place.
