Kemar delighted as the U's go through
Two goal hero Kemar Roofe was typically modest as his brace helped Oxford United storm to a 3-2 win over Swansea City in the FA Cup.
“Nobody cares who scores, just provided we get the goals and win the game” he told Yellow Player HD
“It’s always a great chance for League 2 to play against the Premier League teams and it was great to be part of an upset. We have belief every time we go out there and we work hard for these moments. We have a good team spirit and we came back from a goal down to get a win again.”
Kemar scored two great goals, the first a shot from the edge of the box, the second a swift counter attack that saw him force the ball home having initially set United on the attack by heading away a corner.
“I have been working on that finish in training for years now and it has paid off” he said of the first goal. “The second took ages to actually go in! It was like slo-mo for me, and then luckily it just dipped under the crossbar.”
United now go into the fourth round draw on BBC One this evening.
“I don’t mind who we have next, as long as we can win that as well and keep going in the cup” Kemar said . “Today was the best day of my career so far- it’s not often you play against a Premier League side and win. We didn’t change our way of playing. We play football, similar to them, and we just worked hard from front to back. Everyone put in a shift and put their bodies on the line, and we played our football as well.“
