Jordan joins ahead of Portsmouth game
Oxford United have completed the signing of striker Jordan Bowery.
Jordan, 24, started his career at Derby County before progressing through the youth system at Chesterfield to become a first team regular, playing over 100 games for them. The six foot one forward was then snapped up by Aston Villa, making 22 appearances for Villa before moving to Rotherham in the summer of 2014.
This season he has spent time on loan at Bradford City. He joins the U’s until the end of the season.
He said:
“I’m really pleased to be joining Oxford. I have seen them play a couple of times this season and they play decent football and are challenging at the top of the table. I know Joe Skarz and Chris Maguire from Rotherham and they only had good things to say about the set up here and the ambition of the club.”
Head Coach Michael Appleton said:
“He’s athletic, quick and powerful and always a handful for defenders. With Ryan Taylor out of action for a while we have acted quickly to bring Jordan in and freshen things up. There are some big games coming up and we are delighted to have Jordan with us.”
Jordan is expected to go straight into the squad as the U’s take on Portsmouth tomorrow. See a first interview in Yellow Player HD right now
