Thousands join the U's at Northcourt Road
There was a fantastic turn out for the Oxford United Family Fun Day yesterday with hundreds of fans enjoying a great day in the sunshine.
The first team squad were on hand to meet fans and sign autographs, spending a couple of hours with supporters and trying their hand at many of the activities and skill tests set up around the ground including an inflatable penalty shoot out, a bungee run, an assault course and the Community departments skills slalom.
There were reptiles and snakes to meet, face painting and glitter tattoos to be applied and support from many of the club’s partners including the Oxford Bus Company, Oxford Mail and Brookes University.
The day ended with a record crowd staying on to enjoy the Women’s team beating London Bees 4-2 in a great advertisement for WSL2.
Head Coach Michael Appleton said:
“It was a fantastic day and I hope the fans enjoyed it as much as we did. It showed the togetherness and the way the whole club is so close to the fans and it was a great way to launch the new season.”
