U's delighted with female Regional Talent License
Oxford United are very proud to announce that they have been granted a three year, female Regional Talent Club Tier 1 Licence.Oxford United are one of just 13 clubs granted this license nationally following a six month application process.
The Girls’ England Talent Pathway has been put in place to support the identification and development of players with elite potential, and to ensure that appropriate playing opportunities are in place to enable players to fulfill their developmental needs.
The new Regional Talent Club (RTC) programme will be replacing the current Centres of Excellence and Player Development Centres to provide greater support to clubs who are working with the most talented players.
Richard Blackmore, Female General Manager said
“It is a fantastic achievement for the club. We look at the list and see Oxford United Women in there with clubs who have been around for much longer and you start to realise just how far the club’s female program has developed. This is the pinnacle of female development in this country and we are so proud to be in that top tier.
“A lot of people have put so much hard work into the club reaching this level and deserve enormous credit. The important thing now is to continue to develop and expand. We have the opportunity to help shape the future of female football on a national scale and are determined to play a large role in that.”
Trials for Oxford United’s Regional Talent Club will commence in June. For any further information or an program outline, please contact our head of female recruitment Kieran Hayes on 01865 336135 or khayes@oufc.co.uk
