Rosie puts pen to paper
Oxford United women have begun the rebuilding for the new season with defender Rosie Lane agreeing a new two year deal with the U’s.
21-year-old Rosie played 22 times for the U’s in their second season in WSL2 and Manager Les Taylor is pleased to see her commit to the U’s for at least the next two seasons.
“She’s a good player” Les told Yellow Player HD today. “She missed a lot of our first season in WSL2 because of injury but she worked hard to get back from that and was a very consistent performer last season. She works at her game and we think has a very bright future so it’s great to see her sign.”
The Women’s season restarts in April, but Les told us that the rebuilding starts now with plenty of hard work through the winter months.
“It’s much the same as the first team: the season ends, you take stock and you announce your retained list while looking to strengthen key positions. We will sit down with all the girls and outline the plans for next season and beyond. There will be one or two difficult decisions I’m sure, but we have built season on season so far and we want to make sure we continue to progress.
“Then the hard work starts again and we will be building the squad, going through pre-season and looking to make progress after a very promising year. Rosie played a full part in that and we look forward to working with her again next season.”
