Red and Black striped away kit for the U's
Oxford United are pleased to unveil the brand new away kit for the 2015/16 season.
The U’s have once again reflected their proud history with a contemporary take on a classic kit from the mid 90’s. In 1995/6 Denis Smith’s side won promotion to the second tier of the Football League wearing a striking red and black striped away kit. To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of that success the U’s will wear a modern, updated, version of that kit, with Liontrust once again the front of shirt sponsors and Polythene UK on the back of the shirts.
The away shirt mirrors the v neck of the brand new yellow home kit, designed to mark another iconic moment for the club. This season marks 30 years since the club wore similar two-tone yellow shirts at Wembley in the Milk Cup Final. Both kits feature the iconic Ox Head logo and prices have been reduced to just £39.99 for adults and £34.99 for junior sizes.
The new away kit will be worn for the first time on Saturday when United take on Coventry City at Nuneaton.
Kevin Smith, Director of Business Operations, said:
“We wanted two eye-catching kits that illustrated the club’s great history and evoked memories for the fans. The home kit has gone down very well with the supporters and we are confident that they will love the away version as well.
“We consulted fans on the kits they liked from the past and with our new suppliers we were then able to make both kits totally bespoke and unique to the club, rather than having just one or two ‘off the peg’ templates to choose from.
“We think the two kits look fantastic and hopefully they will mirror the success that the club enjoyed in these colours twenty and thirty years ago.”
Both kits are available to pre-order from www.oufcshop.co.uk.
